Grow Director’s remote monitoring capabilities have changed the way growers manage their operations. With the intuitive app, the grower was able to stay connected to his crops and make timely adjustments, even when away from the greenhouse. This flexibility and convenience give you peace of mind and the ability to respond quickly to changing conditions.
NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) is a hydroponic system where a thin film of nutrient-rich water flows continuously over the bare roots of plants through a shallow channel.
To set up NFT lettuce farm, you'll need a greenhouse or a controlled environment where you can set up the NFT system. Here are the basic steps:
- Set up the NFT channels: Install the channels or troughs at a slight angle to allow the nutrient solution to flow smoothly. Ensure that the channels are properly leveled.
- Start the nutrient solution: Prepare a balanced nutrient solution according to the specific requirements of lettuce. Fill the reservoir with the solution, and set up a pump to circulate it through the channels.
3. Plant the lettuce seedlings: Place the young lettuce seedlings with their roots hanging into the NFT channels. Ensure that the roots are in contact with the flowing nutrient solution.
4. Monitor and maintain: Regularly check the pH and nutrient levels of the solution to ensure optimal growth. Adjust the levels as needed. Also, monitor the water flow and make sure there are no clogs or leaks in the system.
