Wireless communication
Modules communicate over Wi-Fi, including Wi-Fi provided by a cellular router. No communication cables between zones.
Connectivity
Every GrowDirector module communicates over your Wi-Fi network
No communication cables between zones, no network rewiring. Place a module where it is needed, connect it in the app, and it starts working. Add more modules at any time, they simply join the same network.

Adding a module takes a few minutes, right from your phone.
New modules join the same network as your operation expands.
Setup
Power the module, add it in the app, and it starts working. Here is the whole process.
Connect your phone to the Wi-Fi network you plan to use, and stay near the module during setup.
Connect the module to power and wait for the light to come on.
Open the app and tap the Add module button. The app detects your Wi-Fi network automatically, so verify it matches.
Enter the password of your Wi-Fi network and tap Save.
Connect the module to power and wait for the light to come on.
Open your phone's Wi-Fi settings and select the module by name (for example, HydroDirector or SensorDirector). On iOS, enter the default password 123456789 on the first connection. If "Internet may not be available" appears, choose Always connect.
Wait for the "Module successfully connected!" screen. The module appears on the Modules screen with a green "New" marker. Tap Connect another one to add more.
One last thing
The modules only need access to your router's Wi-Fi. How the router itself gets online is up to you: a regular internet cable, or a SIM card with cellular data in a compatible router. This makes GrowDirector practical for remote sites. A greenhouse in a field with no wired internet works the same way as one in a city: use a cellular router with a SIM card, and the modules and app work as usual.
